Relationships......

Something which everyone goes through atleast once in his or her life. Its a struggle and all consuming but still one cannot live without it....

The freshness of the grass,
surpassed only by the contentment
of my lover lying by my side.
I listen to the sweet sounds of nature

My slumber broken,
by a slight peck on my cheek
In expectation I squint
at the afternoon sun, only to see no one around

Perhaps its a game,
one she has frequented a lot lately.
I too play along
running around trees to still find no one.

Is she in the building,
standing yonder like an aberration.
Dark and brooding,
but I do think a shadow moved there.

I fasten my pace,
but am growing apprehensive of what lies ahead.
"Hello is that you?"
My voice dies down against the mammoth.

Trembling I enter.
Isn't she carrying it a little too far?
"Ok! Come out now."
It wasn't such a big tiff after all.

"Hello I am here!!"
Was this her voice that I just heard
or was it me?
My imagination echoing around this mammoth.

I chase the voice
for do I have an option?
The darkness gets darker
but I still see her images now and then.

The impatience grows
but the light of hope starts dwindling.
Do I deserve this?
Is this somebody's fault, or did we just grow apart.

I fall down
resting against the wall of reason,
I have a realization.
...Its all over, perhaps its time to go back.

But, which way ?
The path back is as black as the one ahead.
I do see shadows
but the blank faces offer me no direction.

It was meant to be.
The life ahead lies in this black hole.
Sapping my energies,
leaving me distraught in this time warp.

My eyelids shut
as my whole life passes by in a flash.
Pierced only by a light,
trickling through a crack in the wall.

I dig at it.
Perhaps this is my way out.
The gaps widens!
I seem to be making progress!!

I wriggle out.
All soiled, tattered and torn.
Exhaustion closes my eyes
as I lie, gasping for air and life.

A drop of water!
Perhaps it is the raingods finally smiling.
Tastes so sweet!
Is it the nectar of the wildest flowers.

Like the bluest sea,
the eyes look down upon me.
The faintest of smiles on her lips,
is this a dejavu of sorts!
